Blurb:
Long ago, the laws of the Great Dao gave rise to a special world. It hung alone in the empty sea of stars, beyond the myriad heavens.
Only a very small number of beings in the Space-Time Administration knew of its existence. It was a world beyond the world, made especially to shelter those with nowhere else to go.
The immortal who flew in from beyond the heavens with a single sword, only to fall at the Forbidden City;
The thousand-faced gentleman who schemed too cleverly, and mistook pretense for true affection;
The True Lord of Wonderful Dao, the only survivor of an apocalyptic calamity;
The Twelve Beauties, who wept together in sorrow, their flower spirits returning to the Heaven of Sorrow;
The king who despised humanity, yet calmly gave his life for his people;
The wandering samurai who followed the king's footsteps and became a thousand winds;
Children of destiny who had drifted here from the myriad heavens gathered in this place. Beneath the world's peaceful facade, strange currents lurked everywhere.
The world's administrator despairingly put on a mask. "Somebody help! Can't anyone do something about this?!"
Faced with a world where gods, demons, monsters, and ghosts were everywhere, and supernatural creatures roamed every corner, Dai Xinglan, forced into overtime with her whole family in tow, said, "Heh. It's no big deal."
And so...
The immortal from beyond the heavens was sent to the police station as outside support;
The thousand-faced gentleman transformed into a top-tier star of the moment;
The Twelve Beauties opened a teahouse, where the Lady of the Xiang River wrote elegant poetry that filled the halls with praise;
The capricious king held a cross-dimensional tablet and cheerfully caused trouble for his alternate self;
The wandering samurai turned the world he came from into a comic and strutted around with merchandise of the protagonist, his younger brother;
And the dazed True Lord revisited an old haunt, where he ran into a boy sucking on a lollipop. "...Nezha?"
After the mission ended, the Space-Time Administration conducted its usual interview with those involved.
Dai Xinglan: "I told you it was no big deal. Trust me."
Marshal of the Central Altar: "I don't want to go on another field assignment anytime soon, thanks."
Happy unemployed man Li: "That was fun. I'll come again next time."
