Sweet and gentle heroine x domineering, unruly hero
One rainy night six years ago, Wen Sheng met Zhou Yu for the first time.
The boy, curled up in a shadowy corner, was covered in dark bloodstains. His bony hands gripped Wen Sheng's ankle. His voice was weak, his tone icy. "Save me."
Wen Sheng thought he wouldn't survive.
When they met again, Zhou Yu deftly climbed onto her balcony and trapped her by the window.
He held her chin as the pretty daisy tucked into her hair warmed against his chest.
Zhou Yu asked, "Do you remember what I taught you last time?"
"What? Mm..." As Wen Sheng stared at him, someone stole her breath away.
Zhou Yu's dark eyes smiled, tender yet domineering. "If you don't remember, we'll review it."
-
A fortune-teller once said Zhou Yu wouldn't live to see twenty. When he was young, Zhou Yu laughed recklessly. If he couldn't live that long, then he simply wouldn't.
The prediction came true. At twenty, Zhou Yu was injured by someone. But as he lay on the brink of death, he met Wen Sheng.
Everyone said the Zhou family had a madman, and they all kept their distance from Zhou Yu. Only Wen Sheng wasn't afraid of him.
When he had an episode, only Wen Sheng dared to wrap her slender arms around him, her voice trembling as she choked out, "Zhou Yu, don't be like this. I'm scared."
Zhou Yu always thought he might have been born with two entirely different hearts.
Toward other people, he was changeable, cold, and cruel.
Toward Wen Sheng, she was his life. How much do you love your own life?
-
Six years later, the madman Zhou Yu has become the most powerful and sought-after figure in M City.
And Wen Sheng has nothing to do with him anymore.
The day she returns to the country, the man who can command the business world is curled up in a corner beneath her apartment building, looking utterly wretched.
When he sees Wen Sheng, Zhou Yu's eyes turn bloodshot.
They have both changed since their last meeting.
He's no longer the boy who would climb onto her balcony to see her.
But he's still the Zhou Yu who can't live without Wen Sheng.
The man's arms imprison her slender body, and Zhou Yu doesn't even dare breathe too loudly.
"Wen Sheng, wherever you're going next, take me with you." Without you, I don't want to live through another day or night.
The male lead has mild bipolar disorder. He is genuinely ill, so please avoid this if it's a concern.

The Prelude to Captive Love
1.
Two years ago, Jiang Yun lost her memory in a car accident. When she woke up, she had a husband.
In other people's eyes, her husband treats her well: handsome, wealthy, gentle, and attentive. Apart from being a little controlling, he's flawless.
But only Jiang Yun knows what the brilliant architect, so refined and distant by day, is like when he sheds his elite facade and reveals his filthy inner self.
On countless moonless nights, he gazes at her body with a sick, yearning look.
"Relax. Let me take care of you."
Unable to accept his extreme duality, Jiang Yun tremulously suggests they divorce.
His teeth accurately pierce her skin.
Jiang Yun shudders.
The person kneeling before her lifts his face. The tang of blood on his lips mingles with the fresh jasmine by the bed, an indescribably exquisite fragrance.
"You still want to run away?"
"...Still?"
The man's eyes, burning with desire, hide something strange and sinister.
2.
After that night, Jiang Yun is confined to the house.
She can't go out. Her only daily contact with the outside world is opening the door to receive the flowers Jiang Zongyu has ordered.
Pale purple irises, beautiful enough to steal the soul.
She stares at the flowers, lost in thought, feeling as if she's seen them somewhere before.
In the bathroom, Jiang Yun stands with her back to the mirror and unfastens her clothes. A long surgical scar clings to the back of her neck like a venomous insect.
Jiang Zongyu said the surgeon hadn't stitched her up properly, and that if she minded, she could hide it with her hair. So Jiang Yun has been growing her hair out for two years, never suspecting anything.
She gently lifts her hair and turns around, looking for the first time at the end of the scar in the mirror--
A broken iris branch, blooming in lavish splendor.
As her heart pounds violently, Jiang Zongyu's sullen voice sounds beside her ear. "Piaopiao, why won't you behave?"
3.
The floodgates of memory open.
Thunder roars again and again through the mountainside villa, built by Jiang Zongyu with his own hands like a maze.
Jiang Yun breaks into the attic he has never allowed her to enter. By chance, she touches a switch, and the sky screen in the roof slowly slides open.
Rain lashes the glass, its shadow flowing over the sheets of paper covering the room.
Jiang Yun as a girl, her skirt fluttering;
Jiang Yun at university, looking angry and coy;
Jiang Yun after leaving the hospital, lost and helpless...
The countless missing moments in her memory return through these images. Jiang Yun collapses onto the floor.
Behind her, Jiang Zongyu's obscure gaze is soaked by the rain. His sigh of grief wraps around her like a ghostly whisper. "I only wanted to keep you here."
"Or die together."
*There is no muse in this world, only fate.
*So, Jiang Yun, the cage I built for you has trapped me too.
--Jiang Zongyu
