My Disciple Is Ruthless

Zhiyuan has a very obedient disciple. He is clever and sensible, and never oversteps his bounds.

After teaching him everything she knows, Zhiyuan abandons him and goes off to cultivate on her own.

Three hundred years later, she ascends to the immortal realm from the depths of the mountains, only to be turned away because she has indirectly caused too many deaths.

The Heavenly Dao tells her, "The disciple you took in has run amok and turned to demonic cultivation. Now he says he is going to destroy us! The only way to stop him is to go back three hundred years and strike first. Kill him! Kill him!

Zhiyuan returns to the past, utterly bewildered. Seeing her disciple still as well-behaved and sensible as ever, she pounds her chest in anguish and wonders when he started pretending to be a black-hearted schemer.

But he is so obedient that Zhiyuan can't bring herself to kill him, no matter how many times she tries. In the end, she decides to defy fate and teach him all over again. This time, she'll care about his inner world and find out how his twisted psyche developed. Then Zhiyuan discovers that he has always been black-hearted.

Completely baffled, Zhiyuan asks her disciple, "What exactly are you unhappy about?"

Her disciple smiles. "I'm happy about everything."

This rebirth feels somehow different to me.

Both of them are reborn.

Later, she discovers that everyone's attitude toward her has changed. Even the sect leader fusses over her, asking after her and serving her tea.

Lu Shao: "May I ask about that demon lord who used to be imprisoned beneath Liang Mountain?"

The sect leader: "Shh, that's the Heavenly Emperor."

I might be the Heavenly Emperor's black moonlight, but he insists on repaying his debt to me.

Reading Guide: 1. Sweetness level: warm and healing at first, then... perhaps a little bittersweet and satisfying. Overall, a sweet romance.

2. The heroine's golden finger: She transmigrated along with a well-stocked tourist bus. Her golden finger isn't very useful, but it does make life more enjoyable.
