The Substitute Princess Consort's Pampered Days

The main story is complete. Feel free to start reading!

Jiang Jinyu is the illegitimate daughter of Prince Huai'an. For sixteen years, no one paid her any mind. She and her mother depended on each other, living from one day to the next, until an imperial decree arranged her marriage. She was given the status of a legitimate daughter and married off to the Second Prince, Rong Cheng.

Rumor has it that Rong Cheng is as cold as ice and as decisive as a blade, and that he still harbors an unattainable first love. This marriage was not his choice. After Jiang Jinyu marries him, she is left alone in an empty room, neglected and despised by Rong Cheng.

At a palace banquet, someone deliberately asks how Rong Cheng treats her.

Everyone waits to see her make a fool of herself.

Jiang Jinyu, however, blushes coyly and says in a soft, coquettish voice, "My lord may be a little cold, but he is a truly handsome and valiant man. He treats me with great tenderness and consideration."

The crowd looks down on her, thinking she is just putting on a brave face.

Then a man strides in from outside and comes straight to her. Under everyone's watchful eyes, he drapes his cloak over her and says gently, "It's cold. Be careful not to chill your hands and feet, or I'll have to warm them for you."

Everyone is stunned, hardly able to believe their eyes.

From then on, Jiang Jinyu is held close and cherished by that man, becoming the envy of every woman in the land.
