The Tenth Year After His Death

◎ Angst first, then love and affection | Melodramatic romance

At seventeen, Chen Yunsheng got into University A. On his first day, he lost his luggage, rushed around without watching where he was going, and crashed straight into an upperclassman.

A year later, that upperclassman became his boyfriend.

Like Chen Yunsheng, his boyfriend was an orphan, but he was more talented and more hardworking. By his junior year, he was already worth a fortune and was a campus celebrity.

Chen Yunsheng treasured the happiness that had fallen into his lap, thinking it was a gift from God.

Four years passed in a flash. He got his diploma and heard that his boyfriend's business had failed, leaving him with enormous debts.

But his boyfriend wasn't defeated. He earnestly promised Chen Yunsheng that he wouldn't let him suffer, that he'd pay off the debts within three years and give him an even more comfortable life than before.

Chen Yunsheng believed in him. He believed his remarkable talent would let him make a comeback, and that Heaven would protect him and turn his bad luck around.

He just didn't believe in himself.

Clutching the diagnosis in his hand, he quietly said into the phone, "I'm sorry, Senior. I'm too afraid of being poor to stay with you."

He couldn't bear to hear his boyfriend's reply. He hurriedly hung up, canceled his phone service, and went to the most famous hospital. He spent every last penny he had on two consecutive surgeries... but nothing could stop the cancer from spreading.

On the day he jumped into the river to end his life, he carefully wrote a suicide note, then leaped in and ended his life at just twenty-one.

When he opened his eyes again, someone had rescued him.

At the same time, all his illnesses were gone, the dead of winter had become summer, and ten years had passed in the world.

Staring at the passersby in a daze, he borrowed someone's phone and, without much hope, dialed the number he knew by heart. When he heard the familiar voice, he softly... called him Senior.
