Chubby and Charming (The 1980S)

Chu Jiao was chubby and fair-skinned from childhood, and her weight brought her plenty of troubles. One night, she dreamed that she married Jiang Huan from the neighboring village. They were deeply in love after their wedding. In the dream, she was slim and slender, but she kept asking Jiang Huan whether he would have liked her when she was fat. Every time, Jiang Huan told her he would. When she woke up, Chu Jiao wasn't sure what to believe, so she went to try to run into Jiang Huan, who was home for the holidays and herding cattle. The twenty-year-old was thin, with a gaunt face and shabby clothes. He was nothing like the mature, warm-hearted man in her dream, and he wouldn't even look her in the eye.
