Yamashita Shizuko had encountered Onikiri three times: the first time, he picked a flower she had grown and gave it to her; the second time, Onikiri was a weapon; the third time, he raised a cup of tea to her from afar. When she heard the news and hurried to the Genji estate, she saw Onikiri's true form lying in a pool of blood. In shock, she remembered that they had met far more than three times.
