A Fish Out of Water in a Cannon-Fodder Role

++++ Zhang Weiying transmigrates into a book, but the passionate romance has nothing to do with her. She's merely a cannon-fodder character mentioned in passing.

Being cannon fodder is great. She doesn't have to go through the heroine being misunderstood, clearing things up, and then being misunderstood all over again...

Nor does she have to play the second female lead, diligently obsessing over the male lead and tripping up the heroine...

She's so content to laze around that she can even have another bowl of rice!

Later, a family moves in next door.

She hears that they were disgraced and had their entire household enslaved more than twenty years ago, but have finally been cleared of the false charges.

The two families used to be close friends.

Zhang Weiying remembers that, in the original story, it was this family friend who changed the punishment against the Zhang family from execution to exile.

A loyal and upright man, far removed from the story's troubles, and a good local official.

Zhang Weiying says, "I think fate has brought this young master and me together."

When the Qi Prince's heir was a child, his wet nurse saved his life by switching him with another baby. Later, her family was cleared of the false charges against them.

He moves into the wet nurse's old home, a cramped but peaceful place.

On the third day after he moves in, a young woman shamelessly plops down in front of him. "Fate has brought us together, young master."

Much later, he holds the young woman in his arms. "Qingqing, fate really did bring us together."
