The second half didn’t turn out well, and there’s a melodramatic misunderstanding in the middle. If you dislike this kind of plot, consider this your warning. I won’t delete comments insulting me or the main characters, but please don’t attack my family, orz.

Here’s the blurb:
A heavenly tribulation was approaching. Rong Ying was sent down to a small world to be reborn and undergo the trial.
Having been hounded by countless suitors in the heavenly realm, Rong Ying deliberately chose a mortal this time.
Her husband was neither another immortal undergoing a trial in the mortal realm nor someone with the merit of a hundred lifetimes. In this small world, where no one cultivated the Dao, he had no chance of becoming an immortal.
Rong Ying’s little scheme was working perfectly. She could leave without a backward glance when the time came, without worrying about being pestered.
Ten years later, Rong Ying successfully completed the trial. After arranging for the underworld to give her former husband a good reincarnation, she returned to the heavenly realm and went into seclusion to consolidate her cultivation.
Three months later, Rong Ying emerged from seclusion and heard that a newcomer had ascended to the heavenly realm. Before the age of five hundred, he had fought the most powerful immortal lord, Yongxi, one-on-one and won.
They said that before ascending, he had fought his way through cultivators in the Three Thousand Worlds, following the Asura path of slaughter, a path everyone despised.
But none of the rumors compared to the shock of seeing him in person.
Especially since he had exactly the same face as Rong Ying’s former husband.
The man stormed into the hall and stared straight at Rong Ying. “I have come for my wife.”
Rong Ying shakily set down his wine cup. “...Good grief.”
A few notes for readers:
1. Both leads have only ever been with each other. Before meeting the gong, the shou flirted with plenty of people, but never got physically involved. He’s the type to flirt, then run away.
2. A record of the scummy shou getting his comeuppance. The gong is a paragon of virtue and chastity. A truly exemplary gentleman.
3. Cover art used with permission from Yuechi Jinqiu Jiuxiao, non-exclusive license.
4. I’m not used to writing in a nonlinear order, so the story begins with the trial in the mortal realm. The events in the blurb happen in the latter half. The first half focuses more on the mortal-world plot, so please don’t read if that bothers you, QWQ.
5. There may be a side couple, but they won’t appear much in the main story. I might write about them in an extra, but the main story takes priority.
I’ll add more if I think of anything else.

Jiang Yin, a newly adult ferocious beast, had just arrived in the human world when he was subdued and sealed away by the Daoist genius Lord Suxue, Tantai Bi.
More than eight hundred years later, the seal weakened. Jiang Yin broke free, ready to take revenge on Tantai Bi, only to learn that he had failed his tribulation and died more than ten years earlier.
Jiang Yin: “...”
Choking on his frustration, Jiang Yin kept harassing Tantai Bi’s sect and causing trouble throughout the cultivation world. At last, he heard a bit of gossip:
Apparently, after Lord Suxue failed his tribulation, his soul shattered. His sect tried many ways to save him, and the pieces of his soul they managed to repair had already been reincarnated.
The reincarnated person had a natural Daoist body immune to evil spirits, but no parents or family ties, and his whereabouts were unknown.
Jiang Yin listened, then stared at the boy in the cave. The boy had just watched his entire family get slaughtered and survived the Cave of Ten Thousand Ghosts. Jiang Yin had been keeping him as emergency rations.
Jiang Yin sneered. What a coincidence.
Jiang Yin had planned to tear the little brat apart and devour him. But that wouldn’t be satisfying enough, so after careful thought, he decided to keep him by his side and torment him instead.
Who could have guessed that after years of raising (and tormenting) him, the little brat would look at him more and more strangely?
After waking one day to find himself being kissed in secret, Jiang Yin finally flew into a rage. “You’re chewing on my mouth. Are you trying to eat me first?”
Everyone thought that after recovering his memories, Lord Suhan would make Jiang Yin suffer for all the humiliation he’d endured. But while the ferocious beast was indeed taken away, the sect announced the next day: “Lord Suhan and Lord Jiang Yin will hold their bond-formation ceremony in ten days. Friends from the Three Realms are cordially invited.”
Everyone: ???
An innocent yet vicious ferocious-beast shou x a deceptively sweet gong

Really, once again, I was excused. I explained a lot to Gong. I cried. I almost ordered them all. Why did you do this? You can't have a love brain.
Hahaha, how can I practice swordsmanship with a sword? I can't help but laugh.
I'm looking forward to whether Rong Rong will counterattack←ω←
