The Typical Corporate Drone Bata

An alpha financial backer with maxed-out possessiveness who falls first, and somehow hasn't been driven to death by his own temper yet.

A typical, mediocre office drone: timid, a champion at backing down, and so devoted to his job that he'll show up for work the morning after being kept busy all night. A beta.

You Bai differentiated as an unremarkable beta at the age of twelve. At twenty, he found an equally unremarkable job and muddled along until he was twenty-five.

He had no plans to change jobs, since he couldn't compete with other people. No plans to get married, since he had neither a car nor a home. And no plans to travel or seek entertainment, since he had no particular hobbies he liked.

Then, on an ordinary day after work,

he met an alpha who pinned him in a corner and, drunk, asked if he would marry him.

He said yes.

But You Bai was only a beta and couldn't be marked. No matter how much the alpha marked him, he couldn't smell any pheromones. The less he could smell, the more dangerous the alpha by his side seemed, and the more miserable his days became.

It wasn't until he had spent his first rut with the alpha, covered his aching nape, and headed to work with a bag of ice packs that he started to have second thoughts at his desk.

Maybe... he should call it quits after all.
