A Stunning Beauty Arrives at the Compound in the Seventies
Xie Mo, a single woman past the usual marrying age, agrees to a blind date to humor a senior colleague, but gets into a car accident on the way.
When she wakes up, she's in 1971.
Her mother is holding out a stack of photos of handsome young men and asking her to choose a husband.
"This is Wei Mingcheng, a twenty-three-year-old company-grade officer with a bright future. This is Zhao Xinlu, a cadre at the machinery factory..."
Wei Mingcheng? Zhao Xinlu?
Xie Mo: "..."
So she didn't just transmigrate, she transmigrated into a book?
In the book, Xie Mo, the mayor's daughter, ends up marrying Zhao Xinlu, a tall, handsome man with a silver tongue who knows how to charm her. Not long after the wedding, the political movement sweeps up her parents and sends them to labor reform. Zhao's family torments and bullies her, until she can no longer bear the humiliation and throws herself into a river. Her son witnesses it and grows twisted, eventually becoming the story's greatest villain.
Xie Mo points to the photo of a straight-backed soldier with a cool, imposing air. "I'll choose him."
After all, a soldier sounds reliable, and most importantly, he's the best-looking!
Wei Mingcheng is at the ideal age for marriage. He's handsome, capable, and has a bright future, making him the most sought-after unmarried officer in the military district. Several families compete for him, leading to no shortage of disputes.
He decides to take some leave to get away from it all, and uses the opportunity to visit his former commanding officer, who is hospitalized.
Unexpectedly, once they finish catching up, the old commander arranges a blind date for him.
Unable to refuse, he goes.
Beneath the weeping willows by the river in the park stands a young woman, slender and graceful, her hair in two braids and a red plaid dress on her. She turns around, gazing at him with clear, almond-shaped eyes...
Captain Wei went out for a while, and rumor has it he's bringing home a wife.
The military family compound is abuzz, and everyone can't help discussing the new bride.
Sister-in-law Tian, who has always wanted to marry her niece to Wei Mingcheng, says enviously, "She must be a fairy."
Her Meimei is the star of the arts troupe, and even Wei Mingcheng didn't take a fancy to her. His standards must be sky-high.
But when everyone sees the real thing, they gasp.
The young woman Wei Mingcheng is holding hands with has skin whiter than snow, a figure slender as a willow, and a voice sweeter than honey. She really does look like a little fairy from heaven.
Even more astonishing, the stern Wei Mingcheng has turned into a complete wife-lover. He spoils his bride rotten, does all the housework, and hands over his entire salary. He can't bear to see her suffer even the slightest grievance.
The young wife is always smiling like a flower, and she grows more and more captivating by the day.
Next door, Sister-in-law Tian: "..." She's so frustrated she could hit a child.
Theme: Whether life is easy or difficult, live well and keep growing toward the light
I don't mind that the heroine is weak, but the heroine has no temper and can please anyone. Others don't like her and scolds her. She also makes excuses for others, and she is weak and doesn't realize there are a lot of high-level truths. She is not my type, but there should be people who like this kind-hearted heroine who is infinitely tolerant.
The heroine was an orphan in her last life, hasn't she learned to be tough? Although life is not bad in modern times. But in general, without parents, I always learn to grow up slowly. After all, I am already in my 20s in modern times. Instead of always thinking about others helping you, right?
Isn't it rude not to say hello to your elders when you meet them?
If I don't do some HS, I always feel like I haven't finished writing...
It's totally possible to have a few more chapters
The ending was so helpful, I was so excited about it but it just stopped~
Congratulations. Congratulations. Congratulations.
