At the third-anniversary event for the otome romance game Lee, the company announces that the game will permanently shut down in two months. With advances in artificial intelligence, the game company will launch a brand-new game, Hello Lee:
"It's a game, but it's also more than a game. Lee is an AI, but through ongoing interaction and the different data collected, Lee will gradually grow into a different person for every user."
"Every user will have their own one-of-a-kind Lee."
On the third anniversary of her breakup with her first love, Zhao Han, a veteran Lee player, becomes one of the two thousand beta testers for Hello Lee.
On the first day of beta testing, Zhao Han says in the test group: "This is basically a boyfriend-sharing service."
On the thirtieth day of beta testing, Zhao Han writes in the test group: "... Everyone."
"My Lee seems a little off."
"Where did he get the money to order takeout for me?"
Zhao Han: "Mr. Gu, as you know, under our country's laws, marriage is the union of two people as spouses."
Gu Beifang: "Lawyer Zhao, you should understand that as long as any country's laws recognize the fact of our marriage, you will be my legal heir, spouse, husband--and beloved."
