Yin-Yang Apothecary

Complete

A supernatural ghost-catching story, steady with a bit of mischief

Two male leads: Li Chongguan, a thousand-year-old monster who can do anything, and Chen Zhinan, a naive boy who gradually grows up

A Chinese medicine shop that dispels misfortune and resolves grievances, a yin-yang pharmacy specializing in strange occurrences, has quietly traveled around China for over a hundred years.

After Chen Zhinan, the Heavenly Master of Jiyun Temple's own grandson, joins this shop called Xiaoquantang, bad luck seems to follow him everywhere:

On his first night, he sees an old lady come in and scatter a handful of ghost money.

At midnight the next day, he runs into a headless guy carrying his own head in to get some American ginseng sliced.

On the third day...

"Good boy, there's something you don't know," the owner, Li Chongguan, says with a kind, friendly smile at his new employee. "At this shop, the people who come in during the day are alive and pay in renminbi. The people who come in at night are dead and pay in ghost money."

"We don't offer many services yet. We diagnose illnesses, write prescriptions, and prepare medicine. Slicing American ginseng is free."

"Oh, and we catch ghosts."

They specialize in taking care of the dead's unfinished business.

"Oh," Chen Zhinan says blankly. "Boss, has anyone ever paid you with a paper Lamborghini?"

Hey, wait, dear reader.

There's something behind you.

My next sweet comedy, Days of Pretending to Be Badass on the Front Line, is now open for follows in my profile!

Here's the blurb:

This story is also known as From Dating to Marriage: Love at First Sight and the Road to Falling Hard.

Omega Han Yingfeng has spent years undercover as a Beta at the Military Command Center. With a mysterious patron backing him, he has rapidly risen through the ranks, enjoying a smooth career. To the officers and soldiers of the command, he's a distant star they can never reach.

Then one day, he's suddenly demoted to an ordinary commander and marked by Ji Cen, an Alpha soldier under his command!

Ji Cen wraps his arms around Han Yingfeng and inhales deeply at the back of his neck. "Reporting, Commander. Ji Cen, member of Task Force No. 0593."

Han Yingfeng goes limp. "...What?"

Ji Cen: "Are you really a Beta? Why do I feel like I'm getting addicted to you?"

The next day, the top post on the military network forum:

[Chat] There's Alpha scent on Little Star again

1F [Anonymous Commander 5451]: It's true. Little Star himself still won't admit it, but the rest of you should stop fantasizing. Your Beta heartthrob really has an Alpha now.

2F [Anonymous Commander 2919]: I'm losing it, I'm losing it, I'm losing it, I'm losing it, I'm losing it!!

[Royal Illegitimate Son Commander Omega x Short-Tempered Husky Soldier Alpha]

Han Yingfeng: Comrade Ji Cen, I could find a dog on the street that follows orders better than you.

Ji Cen: Reporting, Commander. There's a breed of dog called a husky.

Han Yingfeng: ...

Tips:

1. The bottom has a congenital gland defect. His synthetic Omega pheromones have no scent, but that doesn't affect [certain other functions]!

2. Younger top.

3. ABO setting, lots of creative liberties, so don't overthink it.

4. Romance and intrigue go hand in hand.

Behind the black clouds pressing down on the city lies a vast conspiracy, carefully cultivated over generations, and the century-old ambitions of one family.

A storm is coming.

No one knows how things came to this. It all began with the collapse of a church, a rampaging plague, and a day that stretched on far too long, until the dynasty fell apart.

The entire dynasty was shrouded in a vast, hazy, suffocating lie.

"Justice and righteousness will crown me."

"No matter which battlefield you stand on, you are my finest warrior and the beloved I hold dearest in my heart."
