The Rogue's Professionalism [Tabletop RPG]

Blurb: As a Call of Cthulhu rules-lawyer player hated by countless Keepers, Ning Long's standard moves include opening with Charm, kicking down doors and blowing things up, and stabbing teammates in the back. Until one day, he gets pulled into a live-action Call of Cthulhu roleplaying game. Here, tearing up your character sheet means death, the truth means madness, humanity is as insignificant as dust, and everything is chaotic and bizarre.

In the boundless universe, the chaotic gods whisper. Mysterious unknowns bring disaster. Only he has walked through endless fear and madness, his hem brushing past piles of corpses by the roadside. The gods gaze upon him with fondness.

Reader's Guide:

1. The setting is mainly based on the seventh-edition rulebook. The story includes modified rules and original settings. Lovecraft purists, beware. (If I followed the originals, there wouldn't be a pairing either.)

2. The author couldn't figure out why every time they play a campaign with only male characters, the story is destined to get awfully gay, even though their campaigns with female characters are perfectly normal. That's why this story began.

3. All settings are completely made up. The author is a middle-aged chuunibyou who refuses treatment. If you can't keep reading, click the X and move on. Don't force yourself.

4. The author is sensitive and doesn't read comments. Feel free to leave criticism or gifts. See you in the next story, if fate allows.

The pairing is with a certain faceless god, a gender-swapped big shot, and the king of taking the blame. The blurb may change when the story begins, but the core premise will stay the same.
