Dearest

During the summer vacation before ninth grade, Lin Mingyue went to stay with relatives in the provincial capital while her family worked away from home.

Everything in the big city was new and exciting. She was playing hopscotch with her cousin when she bumped into someone.

After his parents died in a plane crash, Shen Qing, a favored son of heaven, was sent back to the countryside where his grandmother had grown up.

Having once again agreed to his nanny's request to go home early to look after her child, he walked down the road, with one pool of lamplight after another passing overhead.
