(Gotham) The Heroine Dies Right at the Start

What would you think about if you fell out of the sky and landed so hard your butt nearly split in two?

At the very least, I definitely wouldn't be in the mood to think about how many more nights of overtime I'd have to put in to finish my project and deal with my impossible boss. Damn, it hurt like hell. The ground beneath me was wet and mushy, and it reeked like the clothes and socks of thirty men who hadn't washed in thirty days.

I reached down without thinking. It felt cold and sticky. Before I could see what it was, I noticed a man standing nearby, bundled up from head to toe like he had a serious germ phobia. He stared at me, his face twisted with a mix of terror and excitement.

...What was going on?

And so we ended up in this bizarre standoff: I stared at him, he stared at me, and then something beneath my butt seemed to grab me. I looked down and saw a hand. A severed hand. A hand belonging to a half-dismembered corpse. And the wet, sticky stuff on my own hand was a huge smear of blood.

...Oops.

When I looked up at him again, the man was slowly raising the chainsaw in his hands.

Help! I think I've really gotten myself into deep trouble this time!

A Gotham TV series fanfic, with an original female protagonist and the Riddler as the male lead. That's it!
