Reborn as the Roommate of the Novel's Top and Bottom

In danmei novels, there’s often a storyline like this: A dance student and an athlete end up sharing a dorm room for some reason. The dancer is delicate and beautiful, sweet yet alluring, and naturally makes straight men question their sexuality. The athlete is overflowing with testosterone, every gay man’s dream, yet insists he’s straight as an arrow.

They test the waters, flirt back and forth, and after plenty of push and pull, finally get together. Then they do all sorts of naughty things in their dorm room, as though their other two roommates are invisible.

Unfortunately, Bai Nian transmigrates into the role of one such invisible roommate. He has to be invisible and play matchmaker on the side.

Today, the male lead wants to invite the other male lead swimming. The fake straight guy is too proud to ask him directly, so he insists on dragging Bai Nian along as a third wheel.

Tomorrow, the other male lead wants to lure the first one into a hot spring. Her Majesty is too proud to make the first move, so she makes up an excuse to use Bai Nian as cover.

Day after day, this couple drags Bai Nian into their shenanigans. He’s too soft-hearted to turn them down, so all he can do is hope the two leads get together soon and leave him in peace.

At last, one day, all four roommates go on a New Year’s trip. In the novel, this is the important scene where the two leads confess their feelings. But why have the two leads who are supposed to be cuddling up to each other instead both chosen to confess to him?!

Looking at the two leads, dazed and under the influence of alcohol, Bai Nian hurriedly clutches his little bath towel. “Y-you two, don’t come any closer!!!”

“So exciting! Who did you choose in the end?”

“I didn’t choose either of them.”

“...?”

“I got together with the other invisible roommate.”

Yan Shilu, the other invisible roommate, is a top student who got the highest score on the college entrance exam. Cool and self-possessed since childhood, he has no interest in romance. While everyone else dates, he studies. When they break up, he studies. When they find someone new, he’s still studying.

In his eyes, people who can’t wait to start dating as soon as they enter college are no different from monkeys in heat. He’s a person, not a monkey incapable of controlling his hormones.

Until that hot spring trip, when his soft, bullied roommate came into his bed with red-rimmed eyes. For the first time, Yan Shilu’s heart, always as steady as clockwork, skipped a beat.

Love came crashing in, like a tide overturning his life.

A shy, soft, adorable bottom who hooks people without realizing it + X + a top student and campus heartthrob who ends up eating his words
