At the age of seven, Ye Shuang crawled out from beneath a pile of corpses.
Her father was falsely accused of treason, and the entire General's Manor was executed. From then on, a noble young lady became a commoner.
Ye Shuang swore to avenge her family, but in this world, a commoner and a woman had few ways to rise up and exact revenge.
But Emperor Chu loved music and dance, and the people followed his example. The nobles and common folk of Chu all shared his passion. Once, a folk performer with exceptional dancing skills even rose to become a fifth-rank Palace Attendant.
So Ye Shuang changed her appearance and trained tirelessly in dance.
After ten years in hiding, she became the capital's most famous dancer, Lady Mu.
Dancing in red with golden bells, she became famous throughout the land.
Everyone said Lady Mu of the Rainbow Garments Pavilion was lethally beautiful.
A glance from her could steal a general's soul. When she danced with a sword in hand, she dared to tease even princes and nobles with its point at their throats. Princes, nobles, powerful ministers, and generals all fell at her feet.
Until...
Dressed in a flowing, wide-sleeved crimson gown, she danced before the throne in the Golden Hall. Her long sleeves swept through the air as she drove a sword straight into Emperor Chu's heart and cried, "I beg Your Majesty to die!"
Behind her,
The General of the Flying Cavalry, the Duke, the newly appointed top scholar, the commander of the Imperial Guards, and others followed suit, shouting, "We beg Your Majesty to die!"
Everyone knew the truth. Her smile was false, her devotion an act. They were merely pieces on her board of revenge.
But so what?
To knowingly fall into ruin could be a blessing in itself.
Let them become the sharp blades in her hands.
Let them fight those bastards!

(PS: Many people, men and women alike, help the heroine kill the emperor. The emperor is a true villain, not the male lead. The heroine will use others, including the male lead, for revenge. She is not a good person.
This story was inspired by Tang Shiyi's performances of Tales of Old Luoyang and Yu Lin Ling, which I saw in 2021. There are so many types of Chinese classical dance, and every dynasty has its own classics and charms, so this story takes place in an alternate history, in a dynasty where everyone loves music and dance.)
Theme: When a ruler is unjust, all the people may rise against him!
