[Yuan Xu] All Under Heaven

I've read quite a few stories with emperors as main characters. Some love the throne more than the beauty, while others love the beauty more than the throne. So I got the itch to write an emperor story, too.

Who should be emperor? Yuan Lang? He seems like a good fit, but I didn't want things to feel too predictable, so I chose Xu Mumu.

I want to see what kind of ending might unfold if an ordinary, simple person like him were placed on the throne.

We aren't always able to live where we belong or lead the lives we want.

When ideals and responsibilities pull in opposite directions, what will you choose?

As the new emperor of the Hongqin Dynasty, Xu Sanduo knows he doesn't have what it takes to become an emperor remembered through the ages. All he wants is an ordinary life, yet the weight of an emperor's responsibilities presses heavily on his shoulders.

At eighteen, he meets Yuan Lang by chance, a mysterious man who seems like a wandering martial artist. Yuan Lang takes him beyond the palace walls and shows him the world outside, awakening his longing for the life he wants.

But their relationship is strongly opposed by two elder statesmen from the previous dynasty: his adoptive father, Wang Qingrui, and the general, Gao Cheng.

On one side is the confidant with whom he longs to share the years; on the other is the empire. As an emperor, what should he choose? Faced with his responsibilities and the hopes of his court and people, can he truly give up everything for one person?
