Love Against the Light

When Su Ran was eighteen, she went through the darkest days of her life.

But Shen Zhiyan was there, and a glimmer of hope still guided her.

Later, Shen Zhiyan went to study in England with the school belle. From then on, Su Ran had to walk alone toward the light.

Ten years later, they meet again. She is a dazzling movie star, and he is a medical expert back in China for an exchange program.

When they meet again, Su Ran becomes Shen Zhiyan's patient, but he seems not to remember her.

Su Ran is dejected. Someone like Shen Zhiyan, a favored son of heaven with a privileged life, was never someone she could hope to be with.

On the day she is discharged, Shen Zhiyan adds her on WeChat, saying he needs to send her medical instructions regularly.

Su Ran is a little dazed. Is he really this responsible toward every patient?

Su Ran is invited to the wedding of her best friend from high school, where she runs into Shen Zhiyan again.

When the two arrive together at the wedding banquet, they draw plenty of attention.

Su Ran has somewhere to be and leaves early. Shen Zhiyan also makes an early exit, claiming he has surgery at the hospital.

At the entrance, Shen Zhiyan asks, "I've been drinking. Can I catch a ride with you?"

Su Ran is at a loss. Can she really say no?

He advances on her step by step, and even Su Ran, aloof and indifferent as she may be, eventually falls for him.

Just as Su Ran decides to open her heart to him, Shen Zhiyan's ex-girlfriend, the school belle from all those rumors, returns from abroad.

Su Ran grits her teeth and turns to run.

A month later, Shen Zhiyan arrives in the small town where Su Ran is filming, working there as a doctor on assignment.

That night, he corners her in her van, eyes red as he kisses her again and again.

"This time, don't even think about pushing me away."
