Phantom Skeleton Painting

Lin Banxia seems to have caught the attention of something strange.

His home, where he lives alone, is always filled with strange noises: a wardrobe rattles as if someone is knocking, though there’s nothing inside; a faucet drips even though there’s no water; and there’s a strange chewing sound outside the window.

Then, one midnight,

he suddenly wakes up and opens his eyes to see a snow-white skeleton sprawled across his ceiling. It turns its head, grins at him, and flashes a bright smile.

The audio drama will be available on NetEase Cloud Music on September 12.

This story was inspired by Southern Song painter Li Song’s painting, The Skeleton Illusion Show. Look it up if you’re interested. This novel is entirely fictional, with inspiration from Cthulhu Mythos and Call of Cthulhu tabletop role-playing games. Please don’t confuse it with reality.
