Draco is undoubtedly the very best child in his parents' eyes, but he's also the most arrogant and cowardly. Some people love him, some hate him, and others, like the heroine, fall somewhere in between.
Readers who've read my other stories know that I never view characters through rose-colored glasses. Draco isn't all that great. Admit it. But he's not bad at heart, which makes him an interesting character. He's much easier to develop than someone completely upright like Harry or a total villain like Voldemort, with plenty of room for change in between. That said, I won't hold back when criticizing other characters, so if you can't accept that, please leave as soon as possible.
