Spend It or Explode

1.

The protagonist is broke. He transmigrates to the interstellar era and gets bound to a System. The System tells him: You have three days left to live. Spending money can extend your life. If you don’t spend any, you’ll explode.

Protagonist: ??? But I have no money!

System: This System can provide money, as long as you complete your tasks. Here’s ten million in startup funds. Spend it all and you’ll earn seven more days of life. Now, Host, do your best!

Later.

The protagonist is “forced” to wake up every day on a 500-square-meter bed and face a life surrounded by thirty maids.

An imperial prince from the interstellar empire sits beside the bed and confesses earnestly: “You’re so good at spending money. Get together with me, and I’ll give you three star clusters to spend it in.”

Protagonist: ...

No, if I turned my money into gold and laid it end to end, it would circle your star clusters three times. Believe me?

2.

System: The alien beasts in the Chris Nebula are on the verge of extinction. Your task is to protect and save them.

Protagonist: Okay.

So, on his first night after transmigrating, the protagonist rescues a black “puppy” on a street corner.

He hires the best doctor for the puppy, feeds it the most expensive bones, and even stays with it in a presidential suite.

Protagonist: Stick with me, and I’ll make sure you enjoy endless wealth and luxury!

Puppy: ... Rich people are terrifying. As soon as I’ve recovered, I’m paying you back and leaving.

Later.

The puppy transforms into an interstellar prince.

Protagonist: Now that you’re so rich, you can leave.

Prince: No. I’m determined to be a happy nouveau riche with you!
