Golden Wind, Yearning for the Egret

Everyone knew Ji Rouyuan was born into a noble family and was beautiful enough to outshine the moon and shame the flowers.

Unfortunately, she was proud and hot-tempered, and she never held her tongue.

The childhood sweetheart who grew up with her fell for a timid, soft-spoken daughter of a noble family.

The young general who had caught her eye took pity on a tragic heiress whose identity had been switched at birth.

In a fit of anger, Ji Rouyuan married someone else.

But six months into the marriage, she discovered that on the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival, her husband had been secretly mourning over a keepsake left behind by another woman.

The elders of her clan advised Ji Rouyuan: No matter how noble your birth, you still need to be gentle and considerate toward men. If you keep acting so willfully, how could any man like you?

Instead, their words only made Ji Rouyuan angrier. She turned her husband into her ex, but was consequently sent west to marry for political purposes.

After she left, many people began to miss her good qualities.

But no one could have imagined that Ji Rouyuan would never become a tragic figure herself.

A few years later, Ji Rouyuan became a regent empress dowager with power in her hands.

From then on, who cared what kind of woman men liked?

Everyone only wanted to know what kind the regent empress dowager liked.

Young, handsome, strong, and especially enticing when adorned with gold ornaments and pearls.

Ji Rouyuan had only meant to have a little fun with a young wolf who seemed stoic and unyielding, yet powerless to resist her.

She never realized she'd provoked the future Wolf King, and that one day, she'd be the one to fall flat on her face.
