I Must Trick Her into Giving Me a Divorce Letter

As the daughter of a great general, Lan Sixue had a dream from the time she was a little girl: When I grow up, I’ll marry a great hero who can hold up the heavens! But instead, she was betrothed to Xu Ting, the foolish son of an old family friend. Lan Sixue thought he was weak and didn’t seem like a great hero at all. Xu Ting, meanwhile, thought she was neither gentle nor pretty, and was as fierce as a yaksha. Neither of them expected that before they could consummate their marriage, Xu Ting would be sent to fight in the west, where he stayed for seven years. Over those seven years, Lan Sixue heard news from the west day by day. As her childhood sweetheart gradually became famous throughout the land, she fell for him, and got along wonderfully with her husband’s family. So the man I married is the great hero I’ve always wanted! By then, Lan Sixue had become a female general and sword-bearing bodyguard at the empress’s side. Using an official errand for the empress as an excuse, she approached her husband, who was about to return to the capital, hoping to ease the ache of missing him. That very night, the two of them were swept up in passion and nearly went all the way. But when Xu Ting opened his mouth, he asked her what her name was! It turned out that not only had her husband failed to recognize his own wife, he had fallen in love at first sight with her, disguised as a dancer, and wanted to marry her! Marry me? Not a chance in hell! I’ll trick you into giving me a divorce letter, and then you can forget about having either a wife or a concubine! So Lan Sixue, still dressed as a dancer, turned to Xu Ting with irresistible charm and said: “Darling, though I’m lowborn, I won’t be anyone’s concubine. If you want to marry me, divorce the one at home first.” * I’m both the miserable proper wife and the seductive mistress * The husband’s long, painful pursuit of his wife Theme: Even an ugly duckling can become a swan
