We're a Legitimate Taoist Temple

Haunted by an evil spirit, Shu Yu is forced to make a deal with an old Taoist priest to save his life. He inherits a shoddy Taoist temple whose deity even Baidu can't identify, and is tasked with making it famous.

But when he sees the dilapidated temple, which doesn't even have a proper statue of a god or a single cushion, with peeling walls marked as unsafe and liable to collapse at any moment, he suddenly has a change of heart. Maybe evil spirits aren't that scary after all.

But who could have guessed that this petty, backwater god would actually manifest in person?

The broad-shouldered man in blue raises an eyebrow. A gleaming, icy sword rests against Shu Yu's shoulder, barely an inch from his neck.

"Don't even think about running. Get to work."

"..."

Yet this run-down temple, whose abbot is also a bit of a miser, becomes famous far and wide in just a year, gaining countless followers even overseas.

At night, Shu Yu bends down with a smile and asks reverently by the backwater god's ear, "Divine Lord, don't run away. Are you satisfied with the way I've been working?"
