Forced to Play in the Bottom Lane [Esports]

A League of Legends esports story ---Blurb--- Wu Ying is a young ADC from a lower-tier league. Shang Yunzhou is a world-champion support. The two played a match together. During the post-game handshake, Wu Ying left Shang Yunzhou hanging for ages without offering his hand, and got absolutely torn to shreds for it. Then, in less than a week, they became teammates. The drama immediately took off. The two sides' fans went at each other, and the whole scene erupted in a storm of vitriol. Later, the team filmed a behind-the-scenes documentary. Turns out the jacket a certain ADC always wears belongs to a certain support. No wonder it's a little big. Turns out a certain support likes to feed a certain ADC while he's playing ranked. Turns out a certain ADC calls a certain support “big brother” in private. Fans who were busy flaming each other: … Ship fans: Stop!! Who's doing this right in front of my faves… Oh, it's them doing it themselves again. Never mind, then. Before Wu Ying started streaming. Everyone: What an adorable little sweetheart!!! After Wu Ying started streaming. Everyone: ??? What is this absolute menace? @Shang Yunzhou, you there? Come control your ADC! Shang Yunzhou: What are you talking about? How is he a menace? He'd only just been mobbed online when, moments later, he unexpectedly ran into the player the haters always said he'd been “shipping himself with for years, even though the guy never once paid him any attention.” Who was also his first love, and the ex he'd broken up with years ago. Even after all these years, You Xin hadn't changed one bit. He was notorious for his vicious tongue and short temper, both in and out of the game, and for being aloof and ignoring people. Nan Zhiyi had no choice but to put up with the awkwardness and treat him politely, lest he offend him again. Then You Xin abruptly asked him, “Do you want to clear your name in front of the fans? I have an idea.” Nan Zhiyi: “What idea?” You Xin: “Pretend we're a couple.” Nan Zhiyi: “.” Nan Zhiyi: “Huh?” - A few days after they started pretending to be a couple. Both fandoms collectively broke down: We'll stop hating on you two, just please stop pretending to be a couple! We're genuinely scared! Nan Zhiyi: Everyone, don't panic. I'm more scared than you are :) #I agreed to fake-date my ex to clear our names, but now he won't leave my place.
