Growing in the Dark [Crime Investigation]

Xiao Yu dreamed about Cheng Ye again. First, there was a silhouette by the window, backlit, hunched over with his head lowered, like a bubble that would burst at the slightest touch. He turned around and said softly, "Let me do it, big brother." That was the first day he came to the Xiao family. Then came the shadow that he could never shake off under the blazing sun, holding a can of condensation-covered cola and taking tiny sips in the shade of a tree. During a break in the game, he waved hard at him, showing a row of white teeth. "Want some water, big brother?" That was the summer before Xiao Yu's senior year of high school. Finally, he was lying on the ground, covered in blood, struggling to turn his head toward him. His lips moved as if he were calling... "Big brother." A cold blade pressed against his throat, and Xiao Yu jolted awake. The face from his dream had entered his field of vision, just inches away, their breaths mingling. In the moonlight, Cheng Ye's phoenix eyes narrowed slightly, his smile like a demon's. "I heard you calling that name. Too bad I already ate him." "Want to see him? Kill me." * The "younger brother" who had been missing for five years reappeared at the scene of a bus hijacking, leaving Xiao Yu, deputy captain of the criminal investigation squad, completely baffled. Even harder for Xiao Yu to understand was how his "younger brother," once a top student who had earned early admission to T University as a senior in high school, had become a former inmate with only a high school education. What had happened during those five years without contact? The case and their family ties were tangled together in countless ways. What kind of darkness was concealed behind the light? In the lightless night, there are always hearts carrying warmth, growing in the darkness. A criminal investigation story, with an older top. A principled, upright detective top × a bottom with multiple personalities Content warnings: 1. Criminal investigation. 2. The top and bottom are neighbors. 3. I'm going big with the character dynamics this time.
