What is a true hero? Dixie: Making it your duty to save and help others. The greater your power, the more you should restrain yourself, using only nine-tenths of your strength to uphold your moral standards. The Moon/Myth: Fighting and killing are part of everyday life. In the mythic battles, energy blasts bombard the ground every day, and giant robots bring nuclear annihilation. Kill one and you’re a criminal; slaughter ten thousand and you’re a hero. How can a weakling with no battle record become a legend? Shirou: So people like us, who aim to keep the peace and occasionally kill a few incorrigible criminals, belong to neither side. We can only qualify as antiheroes. 1. DC has so many works, and characters have different personalities in different continuities, so I’ll make choices to keep the story coherent. I’ll borrow some settings and tropes from N52, Rebirth, and even Injustice, but Jason’s personality will be based only on Judd Winick’s P52 work in Lost Days, Under the Hood, and Seeing Red. Other characters’ personalities will also be portrayed from the perspective of those works, and anything outside them is discarded. The same goes for Shirou. I only recognize the original games written by Kinoko Nasu, their guidebooks and interviews, and parts of spin-offs that Kinoko Nasu supervised. I don’t recognize any other derivative manga or anime created by other people. 2. This is a crossover universe, so the timelines are messy and the technology tree has been adjusted a little. Everything serves the plot, and I’ll make it up as I go and patch things together as needed. 3. There’s no lovey-dovey, hearts-and-flowers fluff. Most characters’ personalities and power levels are based on P52, and their values collide like trucks. Read with caution if that’s not your thing. 4. To keep us from hitting each other’s sore spots and making each other miserable, anyone who insists on both leads being romantically inexperienced, is obsessed with the top or bottom, or belongs to any other faction should click away. 5. If you have any complaints about either protagonist, or don’t want to read the moment you see their names, please trust your instincts and click away. I won’t accept questions or jokes based on hearsay from people who haven’t read the comics or played the games. Don’t force yourself, and don’t force me. Let’s spare each other. Also, this story has always had a top protagonist. There is no issue of the top and bottom roles switching partway through. 6. Shiluo Aimiya is a phonetic rendering of Shirou’s full name. Emiya Shirou is not my original character, so please call him Shirou or use his nickname, Shirou-ge, in the comments. Please don’t call him "Shiluo" or refer to him as "the protagonist." 7. Please buy cautiously and don’t subscribe to the whole book at once. The plot and characterization have some major turns along the way. You may be fine with the beginning but not the middle, or fine with the middle but not the ending.
