Song Ci, a major star currently mired in scandal, slips into the nearby Puzhao Temple to evade the paparazzi. There, she happens upon a young man with an ethereal, otherworldly air. He holds a lotus-bead bracelet and murmurs Buddhist prayers, every movement seemingly untouched by worldly dust.
Seeing that Song Ci still hasn't left, the young man kindly asks, "Do you have an unfulfilled wish, devotee?"
Song Ci means no disrespect, but staring at the handsome young monk, she blurts out, "I've come to ask you, little master, to find me a match."
The young man looks up, stunned. He gazes at Song Ci, whose red lips are alluring and whose figure is graceful, then closes his eyes and begins reciting scripture, as if devoutly seeking forgiveness for his sins.
Song Ci feels guilty for seducing a man who was already halfway to becoming a Buddhist monk.
But the Buddha's boundless compassion takes joy in the happiness of all living beings, so she is guilty of nothing.
The Buddha says: Love at first sight is when the soul recognizes its other half.
