[A long period without updates may mean this book is being locked behind a paywall. I'm unlocking it, so don't buy it, everyone. I haven't had time to get online and update lately. Sorry, sorry. I'll still post the rest in the chapters that are already there.]
On the day Tang Man met her end, the righteous cultivators of the immortal sects bound her to the Demon-Slaying Platform.
The Demon Emperor Ji Tan led a million monsters in a standoff against the immortal sects.
The cultivator at the head of the group said, "Ji Tan, crush your demon core, and your wife's life will be spared."
Without her demon core, could the Demon Emperor still be the Demon Emperor?
Tang Man's lips curled into a mocking smile. She did not know whether she was laughing at herself for having guessed this ending long ago, or at the demands these cultivators were making now.
The little maid who had been brought there and bound alongside her comforted and encouraged her. "The Demon Emperor will surely save you, Madam. Don't worry."
But just as the maid's words fell, Ji Tan's scornful voice, carried on the biting wind, reached everyone present.
"Dream on."
The little maid's eyes widened, while Tang Man smiled with understanding.
This was the Ji Tan she knew: powerful, proud, and never one to yield to anyone's threats. She loved Ji Tan for being like that, and she was tired of the way she herself had once been hopelessly enamored with her.
Tang Man could not speak. At that moment, she only had a smile on her lips, but tears still welled in her eyes.
Even her crying was utterly silent, without a sound.
Yet the last sound she left for Ji Tan rang out like a thunderclap.
It was the sorrowful sound of her heart shattering into dust after she blew herself up...
Tang Man did not live to see how, the instant the Demon Emperor who ruled the entire demon realm watched her vanish into nothingness, her expression suddenly changed. She spat out a mouthful of heart's blood, then collapsed straight to the ground.
Everyone in the Six Realms knew that Ji Tan, with her perfect demonic power, used those hands to wield a sword.
But one day, that hand held someone's.
In the past, the world meant nothing to me but seeking revenge with my sword, bathing in the blood of battle, drinking in solitude, and savoring my own arrogance.
Only after meeting you did I learn that I, too, could want something from this world.

"Made to Order"
Zhou Cun was invited back to the country to attend a fashion show.
As she passed the backstage dressing room, she happened to see another model throwing her weight around.
"Let me make this clear: I won't do it for five thousand. I want at least eight thousand for one walk. Take it or leave it. Either way, I'm not walking today!"
Zhou Cun had seen plenty of this sort of thing. She wasn't interested, and turned to leave.
Just then,
a voice even more compelling than the arrogant one she'd just heard reached her ears, making her stop and turn back.
"Then don't walk. Grab any passerby outside. They'll be better than you."
The speaker had her back to the door. Zhou Cun could only see half of her profile, and even that was hard to make out beneath her full-on chuunibyou princess cut.
Pausing there in the doorway, Zhou Cun thought the makeup artist was being far too impulsive and would probably have a hard time smoothing things over afterward.
But she hadn't expected the person with her back to her to suddenly turn around.
As their gazes met in midair,
Zhou Cun felt her heart stir.
And the very next moment...
"Hey, miss, can you help me out?"
The lively-looking girl with long black hair raised an eyebrow at her from across the room and asked, then continued:
"I won't make you do it for free. She's a professional model, five thousand for one walk. You do it, and I'll give you six thousand. How's that?"
Before Zhou Cun could answer, the little model who was about to be replaced grabbed the girl's shoulder and screamed,
"He Lan Miaomiao, are you crazy? What makes some passerby worth more than my appearance fee?"
The girl smiled like a cat, languid and sly, but her voice was cool and cold.
"Her face is better than yours."

Reader's Guide:
1. Big demon X little fairy (a real fairy, hia hia hia hia)
2. As cheesy and melodramatic as it gets
3. The reason the title says Demon Lord while the blurb says Demon Emperor is not a contradiction. It will be explained later.
4. Not updated daily [Because of work, updates won't be daily. Read at your own risk.]~
Theme: Every kind of love deserves to be respected
A chapter can only contain 3,000 words at most, so I will move the previous ones to the chapter above.
"Come and post the text in the evening"
Are you wearing it? 😭 I promised to come back tonight to update, why haven't I come back after two years?
One or two people are talking nonsense. Alas~
Hey, when did she grow up? It was the same in the last life and this life as well. Be more thoughtful.
To be honest, I never like this kind of heroine. Innocence can be harmful to others and to yourself.
Is the author wearing a book?
"The Night Is So Long"
Where did Da Da go? Urgent to update. Urgent to update.
The little mute is still too kind. If he were a cruel person, he would definitely go straight to Mingmen.
