When Fu Huan first arrived in Liaodong to defend against the northern barbarians, she was ordered to receive a supervisory official sent from the capital.
She heard the man was a big shot, someone with influence who could speak up in front of the emperor. His temper was supposedly awful, though, and he was an oddball. He had come to Liaodong only because he had offended some noble and needed to lie low.
Not much use, then.
Fu Huan didn't think much of it, but since he had been sent by her superiors, she figured she should at least put on a good show, even if she didn't want to.
So she followed her father's instructions and went to meet him. Who could have known that picking him up would turn into a huge headache? He got the whole package: assassination attempts, pursuit, and poisoning. She couldn't imagine how badly he'd offended that noble.
It took her three days to go get him. Bringing him back held Fu Huan up for a full half month.
She didn't find his bad temper especially memorable during that time. What stuck with her was how spoiled he was, with none of the bearing of a powerful man.
Fu Huan put up with him all the way there, until he wore down her patience completely.
Even worse, she gradually began to realize that she might, maybe, actually like him. :(
The supervisory official spent five years in Liaodong, while Fu Huan spent ten.
When they met again, she finally realized that he really was a big shot in the capital.
Note:
1. The story opens with their reunion in the capital.
2. The male lead really is a eunuch. The dynasty is fictional. (No one is perfect, and I can't write a perfect story either. Please don't bring drama here. You can criticize the characters, but don't make it personal. And if you drop the story, there's no need to tell me. Thank you.)
3. Please add my upcoming story to your favorites: The Demon Lord Is a Steel-Fanged Rabbit. The blurb is in my author profile.
(Begging you to add it to your favorites!)
Please add my upcoming story to your favorites!
Ji Ning transmigrates into a brainless male power fantasy novel as the male lead's greatest golden finger.
In the first part of the story, she is the respected mentor who clears every obstacle from the male lead's path.
Later, she becomes one of his many love interests, competing with beautiful women for the chance to make him smile.
To escape the melodramatic plot, Ji Ning takes advantage of the male lead's absence, transforms ahead of schedule, and escapes from the secret realm where she was imprisoned.
But her injuries leave her weak, and she turns into a baby. She hasn't gone far before a raggedly dressed little fool grabs her by the scruff and takes her home.
The little fool has no parents. Clumsily, he cooks the last half-bowl of rice in the house into a pot of undercooked porridge. With soot all over his face, he hands the bowl to Ji Ning and grins foolishly. "Little sister, eat."
Looking into those sincere eyes, Ji Ning feels a slight stirring in her heart. Since she knows nobody here, she figures it might be nice to travel with him for a while.
And so the fearsome beast everyone dreads becomes the "good little sister" the little fool can't stop talking about.
Before long, the little fool grows up and gets taller.
With his outstanding talent, he is taken in as a direct disciple by an elder of a great sect and becomes the male lead's greatest rival in the story.
Staring at the big fool standing in opposition to the male lead, Long Aotian, Ji Ning finally gets her rusty brain working and tries to remember his name. Then she wonders: Is he the villain?
The big fool pulls her behind him and glares fiercely at Long Aotian. "Ningning is so good. You must be the one in the wrong."
Then he turns and gently rests a hand on Ji Ning's head, soothing her. "Ningning, which hand of his touched you?"
Before Ji Ning can answer, he continues as if he's figured it out. "You don't like his eyes either, do you? Me neither. We might as well destroy them along with the hand."
Ji Ning: Yep, definitely the villain.
P.S. The male lead is just a little dim and pretty straightforward, not actually that stupid (probably).
The female lead is an ancient ferocious beast.
The blurb has been saved as a screenshot.
Theme: Even when faced with hardship after hardship, never give up easily.
One night ten years later, I will still think of this plot. What is the significance of this encounter between Ji Fuliu and the heroine? Why does the heroine feel that something is wrong?
No, what is the relationship between Fu Qing and Ji Fuliu? What is in that box? Is it a marriage certificate? Is it because Ji Fuliu has been taking such good care of Fu Huan because of his guilt for breaking off the engagement? Do the two of them have a romantic relationship? Why did Ji Fuliu never sleep with him? Why did Fu Huan think Ji Fuliu was weird in the last horse riding scene? What was Ji Fuliu's final outcome? What was the emperor's attitude towards Ji Fuliu? The author really wants to torture me to death.
So sweet, An Ci is so cute www
The name "Unlucky" doesn't sound very clever, hahahaha
I've finished reading it. The author's writing is so good. It's so sweet. I like it so much qwq.
It's so good. I don't know why I thought of Ren Jialun and Tan Songyun. I feel like a lot of things were not written clearly.
Love it, love it, but the characters in the first few chapters are a bit confusing, but the rest of it is great!
This is so pretty too woo woo woo
So short, too little sweetness
I saw words on the cover, so I looked at it carefully. Then I laughed so much that my stomach hurt. I like such exquisite people as my father-in-law. Hahahahahahaha!!
