Love Letters, Read Only for You

Shen Xingci, the young master of the Shen family, is a bona fide lunatic.

He unexpectedly lost his hearing as a child. Growing up, he became gloomy and violent, constantly getting into trouble and fights, committing every sort of misdeed. Everyone steered clear of him, and no one dared cross him.

One year, a little girl moved into the Shen family home. They said the elders had arranged for her to marry Shen Xingci when he was still a child.

The girl was fair and delicate, with a soft, sweet voice and a gaze as gentle as moonlight. She looked like a little fairy who had just descended to earth.

Everyone worried that she would be bullied.

Until one day, someone saw Shen Xingci cornering the people who had bullied her in an alley. He fought them as if his life depended on it, beating them until they knelt and begged for mercy.

Covered in blood, the young man had bloodshot eyes. His hand trembled as he snapped off a branch, knelt before the girl, and carefully wrote two lines.

"Niannian, don't be afraid."

"No one is allowed to bully you."

Years later, a tech tycoon appeared out of nowhere in China. He was said to be an elite who had returned from studying in the United States, and had already made a name for himself in the San Francisco Bay Area at twenty. It was a pity that he had a hearing impairment, but it did nothing to diminish his brilliance.

On a talk show, the host asked Shen Xingci if he had any little-known secrets.

Shen Xingci pondered for a moment.

"One summer, I couldn't sleep one night. A girl said she'd sing for me."

"She didn't know I was secretly wearing my hearing aids."

So I know what you were doing that year. You used singing as an excuse to recite a love letter to me.

/ I fell into the abyss, where the world was silent and the night stretched on without end;

You came against the wind, lit a star, and kept it shining through the night. /
