Playing the Qin for You

By Your Side, Playing Qin and Se (Liu Ji) The strings sound mournful, grief heavy in my heart. In this troubled age, I meet you once more, though Heaven has not blessed our fate. I leave, then return, as the sun and moon shift and renew; the sword's aura surges, and the Five Sacred Mountains stand as one. I would follow you to the underworld, walking by your side with qin and se in harmony. The wind sighs, the trees rustle; I dance as falling leaves drift away. Tears fall, my voice trembles; I gaze upon my homeland and let out a long sigh. A Sword That Shakes the City (Qinglian Muyetian) Who wields the sword and laughs, asking the blue heavens, while hearts in the martial world are fraught with danger? Blood stains the beads of the Bodhi; how far away is the road through this mortal world? Who draws the sword, drunk, and questions the heavens, weeping beneath the moon over Shu Mountain? Why leave behind a thousand threads of love and empty, floating promises? The sword of heaven and earth, planted atop the peak, stands between heaven and earth. The wind swallows the ragged clouds; rosy light scatters everywhere, piercing the mortal world and thinning into mist. The sword of sun and moon, forged with the might to cleave the Dragon Abyss, draws in yin and yang, and at last becomes a divine blade. Iron tempered a hundred times, the sword transforms the land; dragon and phoenix greet the sun, and the hibiscus blooms. The divine phoenix is accompanied by the ice phoenix. Twin souls sharing one fate, they are ice and fire, masters of transformation and destruction. They are closest of all, and yet the most distant. It is said that five thousand years ago, the immortals and demons agreed to battle, bringing disaster upon the Three Realms. At that time, the demon clan entered the world seeking personal gain, only to have their cores seized by cultivators. Humans and demons slaughtered one another, their cries of grief filling the wilderness as blood stained the sky. The gods were enraged. A cataclysm began, and the ice phoenix appeared. The will of creation was to seal the cold of the Cambrian with blizzards that blotted out the sky, and to let the flame of Sui Ren's kindling burn for a thousand years. For a love never forgotten in life, in the end, it was all given back to the mortal world.
