You're So Sour

Romance:

After dropping out of Imperial Star University, Yu Ning ends up on a second-rate mining planet. He opens an unlocking shop and makes a living by bluffing his way through jobs, but gets arrested after unlocking an antique cellphone.

None of that matters. What does matter is that the second young master of the Ming family, his childhood friend, descends from the sky in a Qilin mecha to... take him into custody.

Every military mecha in the empire needs both a pilot and a technician. Because of his ears, Yu Ning gave up his dream of being a pilot early on and decided to become Ming Yanli's technician instead. But time changes everything. After four years apart, Ming Yanli hasn't become a pilot, and he's already become someone else's technician.

Yu Ning gets sulky as he's arrested. Ming Yanli, who has no idea what's going on, suddenly thinks of something: "Why is your Ning the Ning in lemon?"

Yu Ning replies, "Because I'm sour."

The cat-shaped mecha provides timely musical accompaniment: "Lemons grow on the lemon tree, and beneath it, you and me~"

Plot:

In the era after interstellar civilization, almost all electronic devices have been integrated into a new kind of biological mecha, and DNA authentication has replaced the old password system.

This creates a problem: once the passwords to old devices are lost, there's no way to open them. Thus, a new profession emerges, specializing in unlocking and cracking codes.

Trace the paths of the past and uncover, in the passwords of long-forgotten old objects, secrets that refuse to become dust in the pages of history.

Yu Ning is a highly skilled unlocking specialist, good at picking locks and getting jealous.

Notes: 1. The interstellar setting and mecha are mostly made up. The story is mainly about romance and solving mysteries.

2. The romance is sweet overall. The top isn't a jerk in the early misunderstandings; there's a reason for them.

3. It definitely has a happy ending. Yu Ning is the bottom.

4. Unless something comes up, updates will be posted before 9 p.m. every night.
