In the fourth year of the Mingyuan era of Great Chu, Emperor Chu personally led an expedition against Yan and was captured. To save the ruler's life, the regent agreed to Yan's demand and ordered General Ning Lianying executed. The Ning clan members were either killed or sent into exile, and only Ning Jiushu, the general's illegitimate son, disappeared without a trace. Afterward, the Kingdom of Yan placed Emperor Chu under house arrest and married Princess Mingfeng to the Crown Prince of Chu.

At the time, Nie Qian, the Crown Prince who was at risk of being deposed, had no idea that the missing Ning Jiushu was right there in his Eastern Palace.

Many years later, Nie Qian asked, "I understand hiding in plain sight at court, but why did you come up with the original idea of hiding in the harem?"

Ning Jiushu: "Do I look like someone who could pass the imperial examinations?"

The Crown Prince is the bottom, and the pairing won't be reversed. Daily updates, though I might occasionally take Friday or Saturday off for errands. If I don't say otherwise, expect a daily update.

The setting serves the plot, so please don't nitpick the history. Yan and Chu have nothing to do with the real Yan and Chu of the Warring States period~ There are some angst warnings, but it will definitely have an HE.
