The Scheming Supporting Female in a Beloved Daughter Novel Takes the Farming Heroine's Script

Jiang Ciyi dreamed she was a scheming supporting female character in a novel where everyone doted on the heroine.

The heroine of the story was Xu Sulian, the most talented young woman in the capital. She was breathtakingly beautiful, born to an illustrious family, and adored by her ten older brothers. Even marrying her imperial cousin, the emperor, and becoming empress was a sweet romance for her.

Her only setback was a lowborn concubine in the imperial harem who stopped at nothing to seduce the emperor and covet the empress's throne.

Jiang Ciyi was that scheming little concubine, vying with the heroine for the emperor's favor. In the book, the heroine and her brothers would expose her true face, reveal her malicious and scheming nature, and then the emperor would reject her and send her to the Cold Palace.

Jiang Ciyi: ...?

Was maintaining friendships with the other concubines scheming? Was being considerate to the eunuchs and maids scheming? Was brewing medicinal soup for the emperor scheming?

In a sweet romance, having even a little common sense made you scheming?

In the dream, the young emperor who eventually ordered her execution for being "deeply calculating, malicious, and hideous" was now a sincere boy whose eyes sparkled when he smiled. He would lean over the wall into her courtyard with a grin and call her Little Sister Ci.

He'd even said he'd marry her when he came back.

Thanks for the sentiment, but no thanks.

Jiang Ciyi fled that very night, taking the keepsake her master had left her, and found her childhood betrothed, stationed on the border.

"Let's get married!"

The young general thought she was clever and kind, and was always telling her to be a little more calculating so she wouldn't get fooled.

There wasn't even a single female mosquito around him, and marrying him meant she'd have a whole gang of underlings showering her with praise. Wasn't that better than the imperial palace?

By the time an imperial edict arrived from the capital summoning the great general and his family to court, Jiang Ciyi had become a celebrated miracle doctor in the borderlands, healing countless people. Even the enemy soldiers were desperate to see her, often sneaking across to seek treatment.

Huh, what? A scheming supporting character?

The borderland locals disagreed: Divine Doctor Jiang was compassionate and merciful, saving the suffering and showing boundless love. She was clearly Guanyin incarnate...

The officers under her husband's command: The general's wife is obviously kind and gentle, as pure as a white lotus...

Jiang Ciyi: ...Thank you, but there's no need.
