Cthulhu-Style Affection

The most beautiful fairy tale I've ever heard is that he will be waiting for me at home.

He might be hidden among patches of moss, or inside a hole bored into an apple.

He might reach out a spider leg, or a slippery tentacle.

He might have eight bulging eyes, or just half an eye, incomplete.

He is my lover. "Samuel" is his human name.

The final year of the apocalypse.

There is no human army, only zombies.

Jia, a plant-type ability user, falls in love with a blue-eyed human he has just met.

One day, he wakes up in an underground lair, his lover's clothes torn to shreds and stained with blood.

Jia is in so much pain it feels like his insides have been turned upside down, but the instant he meets the monster's eyes, he finds himself again.

No matter how unlike a human he looks, this is his lover.

His lover, wearing all manner of indescribable appearances: "Human, if you're grieving, then take revenge!"

Jia is confused.

So... should he pretend he doesn't know?
