[Touken Ranbu] A Kansen from the Shinsengumi

The setting has some overlap with Rurouni Kenshin, but the main plot has almost nothing to do with it.

Female lead: Himura Kenshin's adopted sister. After her brother left the mountains, she did too, and by a twist of fate joined the Shinsengumi. (Her brother's with the Imperial loyalists, while she's with the Shinsengumi. Now they can fight to the death!) Thanks to Okita's beauty, she successfully passed as a man for five years. (Female lead: No one in the world looks more like a girl than Captain Okita. Smile.) After she dies, Fox Suke tricks her into going to a Honmaru, where she comes face-to-face with the Shinsengumi's swords.

Extra scene 1 (The story may not actually delve into the Shinsengumi's past, but I did come up with this setting.)

She returns from the pleasure district, drunk and arm in arm with Hijikata, only to run into Okita Soji's deathly smile. (Okita: Chicken.)

Extra scene 2

Female lead: As expected of Captain Okita's swords. Each one is more girly than the last.

Okita's spirit (smiling): Himura, would you like me to serve as your second?

Extra scene 3

Female lead (muttering): A sword that's a replica, but the general insists it's genuine; a sword said to be a work by Kanesada, though everyone knows the truth; a sword that cost only fifty ryo back then, yet carries such a grudge after being broken. The Shinsengumi were so broke they were practically selling themselves, while Yamato no Kami cost two hundred ryo and Captain Okita bragged about it for ages. Everyone was flat broke, so what was the point of competing with each other...

Theme: What, after all, does a person live for?
