Half-Dream Space

Someone once asked Yan Yue, "What is the half-dream space?" Yan Yue thought for a moment, then answered, "A half-dream is a half-awake state. You can't wake up, but you can't fall asleep either. You can't live, but you can't quite die. It's a no-man's-land on the border between reality and dreams." And she had always lived there. * My life is a mess. My soul is chaotic and disordered, and two voices in my mind are constantly at war. One voice says: You must become a good person like your parents. The other says: Cast aside your conscience. Evil is your true nature. In the end, I compromised. I thought: The best choice for me is to become a hypocrite. But the reality that illuminates my life is that my goodness is incomplete and my evil impure. I seem to exist in a world between dreaming and waking, and I call it the half-dream space. Someone asked me: What is the half-dream space? I think I can answer like this: A half-dream is a half-awake state. You can't wake up, but you can't fall asleep either. You can't live, but you can't quite die. It's a no-man's-land on the border between reality and dreams. And I've always been there. So I contradict myself, attack myself, and long for death. How can I see myself clearly? For me, that's a difficult question. So I want other people to see through me, or, to put it more accurately, to attack me. Giving others a blade and urging them to pierce my heart is the happy ending I've set for myself. Yan Yue. Theme: Self-discovery
