The Last Human

I arrived in a strange world.

The stray dog-person who found me said, "Even though I'm a stray, the human I take care of shouldn't have to wander around with me."

The cat nurse who looked after me at the hospital whispered, "Can I take care of you? I swear I'm a cat who loves humans. I'll never show you my claws."

The mechanical being living inside my old phone told me, "I like being held in your hands."

The vampires peeking at me through the window discussed among themselves. "I hear human blood tastes delicious. Can I have a bite?"

The merfolk who championed Platonic love said earnestly, "I hope to win your love. They say that a merfolk who falls in love with a human can have an immortal soul."

The insectoid race, said to be searching the entire universe for their queen, found me. "Your Majesty, welcome back."

I am the only human in this universe.

Every day, I get ten hours of sleep, eat three meals at regular times, exercise and have fun. I only have to work two hours a day. The Human Protection Association, formed overnight, is even worried I'll wear myself out.

I'm so touched. It's great being a protected animal.
