Also known as Before the World Falls, A Sour-Faced Girl Stockpiles Supplies, Farms, and Cooks in the Apocalypse, and Please Let Me Hate Humanity
Reborn one month before the apocalypse, Ming Lan begins frantically stockpiling supplies, storing grain and building high walls, collecting zombie cores, leveling up like crazy, and most importantly, keeping her distance from people.
In her previous life, meteor showers came first, followed by endless downpours and extreme heat, and then a zombie virus outbreak. Humanity weathered the disasters, built fortified shelters, and united to fight the zombies. But the real nightmare came next: a virus that created impostors.
Impostors looked and acted just like healthy people. They could pretend to have feelings and imitate human behavior, but in reality, they fed on human emotions for energy. They were nearly impossible to identify. And even once you finally figured someone out, how many people could bring themselves to hurt a loved one or close friend? So the virus spread through the bases like wildfire.
In her previous life, she was a Level Three powerhouse and a pillar of the base. Warmhearted and generous, she saved countless people. But the impostors saw her as the greatest obstacle to uniting the base. They slandered her and slowly drained her strength.
What chilled Ming Lan most was that ordinary people helped the impostors hurt her. Her former comrades turned against her, and the people she had once risked her life to save surrounded the impostors as they cut her open alive and dug out her core.
Reborn into this life, she decides to stay away from people.
Please let me hate humanity. I have the right to hate humanity.
She builds her own fortress in a remote, uninhabited place, stockpiling supplies, farming, and cooking in the apocalypse with a sour face. Her fortress is safe and comfortable, and she only keeps dogs there. After all, the more people you meet, the more you like dogs.
She has an air of calm, lifeless detachment. Nothing matters to her. She cares about nothing.
While gathering supplies outside, she happens upon the fallen demon king from her previous life.
The demon king from her previous life was so terrifying that people trembled at the mention of him, and he had killed countless people. But Ming Lan accidentally saw him break his own arm to save his benefactor, who had done nothing more than give him a cup of water.
Knowing he was someone who repaid kindness, Ming Lan decides to give him a hand while she's at it, adding another layer of protection for herself and her fortress.
The demon king's wounds heal quickly, and he is remarkably obedient, so Ming Lan lets him stay one day after another. She never expected someone so unruly to be so meek around her.
Watching him work the fields with his head bowed like a little dog, toil without complaint, and nervously fear being thrown out, Ming Lan even blames herself for a while, thinking that this life has erased his unruly nature and dulled his original sharp edge.
Then she accidentally discovers that everyone who had offended or pestered her has had their necks snapped by the demon king.
Frost glints in his eyes. Without a trace of a smile, he coldly and swiftly snaps the person's neck. His voice is low and hoarse. "So what if she flaunts herself like a rose? A rose has the freedom to bloom without restraint. But if you look at her one more time, you'll pay for it."
Ming Lan: Is this right? And is it too late to run now?
Before the world falls, I will love you.
Premise: Stay positive every day.
