A spur-of-the-moment work after reading "Joker Dad." Not an original work, part of the official-kills-off-fanfiction series.
In G-World Gotham, while playing a game of cat and mouse with Batman, the Joker accidentally wandered into the chemical plant where he was born. As the two argued on the second floor, the Joker accidentally dragged Batman into a huge vat of chemicals below. But the one who climbed out of the vat wasn't the 200-pound hunk Batman. It was a crying, fussy baby.
The Joker panicked at the loss of his nemesis, suddenly feeling that, like a shadow without light, his life had lost all meaning. So, in a leap of logic only the Joker could make, he decided to raise the baby and restore the purpose of his life by turning him back into the fearless caped crusader who fought crime!
After overcoming a series of hilarious yet heartbreaking challenges while raising Bruce, little Bruce finally made it to preschool, and Dad Jokes was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief. But just then, he opened the door and discovered that he and little Bruce (and Harley, actually) had arrived in a completely different Gotham City...
P.S. That's roughly the story setup. A cozy child-rearing story, medium to short length, with no angst (at least Dad Jokes and baby Bruce won't suffer. If there is angst, it's needed for the story and will lead from bitterness to sweetness. No traumatizing plotlines.)
This is an adaptation and revision of the original "Joker Dad" setting. The very Japanese-style rooms and childcare center from the original comic will be changed, but there will be asides like those in gag manga (to make it funnier; if they don't work, I'll remove them).
The G-World where Dad Jokes lives is similar to Lego Batman: lighthearted and child-friendly. The G-World Joker doesn't commit any truly heinous crimes [the worst is probably robbing banks and kidnapping passersby to force Batman to show up and engage in philosophical debate with him (just kidding)].
Mentioned pairings: Dad Jokes x G-World Harley Quinn. The Joker and Harley from the grim and gritty world are exes; Harley is better off on her own. (It's not part of the main plot, just mentioned briefly, since the story is about raising a kid.)
Theme: Because you are here, this world feels wonderful to me
Don't forget that "Monster Heroes" next door is still waiting for an update. It's been a long time. Please update it soon.
