[Crossover, Mainly Attack on Titan] What We Could Never Reach

▼

We met inside a cage within a cage,

longing for the vast sky beyond the barrier above us.

We dreamed of reaching a place touched by sunlight,

running freely across an endless grassland.

We spoke of dreams that seemed impossibly far away,

step by step drawing closer to the truth of that world.

Can we create the world we want?

Can we achieve the ideals we pursue?

Can we become the hope we speak of?

Let nothing hold you back.

Bravely take that first step outward.

I am on the other side of the world.

Come find me.

I have been waiting all along

waiting for you to come.

The worldbuilding is huge and mysterious. It won't be confined by a mere three walls!!

The love interest is the young man who appears in the very first chapter and has a strong presence. The romance develops quickly (just how quickly? Read on to find out). Though this is mainly a story-driven novel, that doesn't mean the romance is faint. These two have an old-married-couple dynamic, with an affection that's gentle and enduring rather than passionate.

The story's overall scope is roughly this: a tale about learning to save yourself and the things you want to protect.

P.S. In a sense, the protagonist is ruthless. Her values, personality, and ways of handling things all stem from her upbringing. In short, she's not a normal person.
