The Richest Man in My Family Is Broke

When Hai Ou was six, her grandmother predicted that she'd marry a billionaire one day, so Hai Ou started spending money like there was no tomorrow.

At twenty-six, after squandering the family fortune and ending up on the poverty rolls, Hai Ou finally met that billionaire.

Hai Ou: "To be honest, I'm your wife."

The billionaire narrowed his eyes: Another woman after my money.

Before the wedding, Hai Ou packed her bags, ready to move into the mansion.

Hai Ou: "Huh?! Why are you showing up in nothing but your underwear?"

The billionaire: "The weather's turning cold. Time to go bankrupt..."

Hai Ou: "Speak plainly."

The billionaire: "...I'm bankrupt."

After they'd been married for a while, Hai Ou bought a pink three-wheeler for her husband to use when buying groceries.

Online, people lambasted her: The once-glorious movie star was living off an old, poor woman.

Hai Ou's hands shook with anger. "I'm poor? I'm old?"

Pu Chuanfeng: "Don't be mad, don't be mad. I'm the poor one, I'm the ugly one."

Hai Ou's eyes reddened. "What! Who dares say you're poor? Who dares say you're ugly?!"

Poor Pu Chuanfeng: ...Under my wife's adoring filter, I'm richer than the richest man.

Not long after, Hai Ou posted on Weibo: "Bought my husband a grocery-getter. Any recommendations for a vegetable market?"

The comments quickly topped ten thousand. One car enthusiast's comment kept getting upvoted: Nearly ten million. This car burns through about a month's salary for a middle-class worker in Lincheng in just one hour.

Soon, the blogger replied: Three months.

A reporter ran into Pu Chuanfeng on the street. "Movie star, can I ask what vegetables you're buying?"

Pu Chuanfeng: "Some chicken breast, daylilies, dried radish, and beef."

Reporter: "Why did you pick those?"

Pu Chuanfeng: "My wife is low on iron, so I'm going to cook for her and help her get some."

Reporter: "..." Caught completely off guard by the public display of affection.

Then Pu Chuanfeng turned to the camera and said, "But my wife says she's definitely in love with me."

Reporter: "!!!" Even at work, I've got to be a jealous lemon.
