[Sherlock] Between Black and White

There is a kind of person you cannot place in any category. She is neither black nor white.

She can hide herself away from the world, or shine brilliantly.

She could be anyone you've ever met, and yet she could also be someone you've never met.

You've met ordinary people and outstanding people, but you've never met her. She's all around you, yet there's nothing about her that seems unusual.

She moves between detectives and criminals, never showing favoritism or taking sides. She represents a third kind of person, the third form of those born with a gift.

She is Portia Gosset.

Pairing: Portia x Sherlock

Warnings:

1. The author isn't too fond of Irene Adler, so you know what to expect.

2. Portia and Sherlock are both calm and restrained. Sherlock will crack Irene Adler's code in the end, and Portia will, if necessary, do things that harm Sherlock.

"When I Am Old and Faded"

The story of an elderly Sherlock and An Cheng in a parallel world.

This time, fate gives them another chance to meet. With aged bodies and young souls, can they still spark something between them?

Fate has been so kind to me, letting me meet you in the final stretch of my life.

Our journey was brief, but one backward glance from you became an obsession I cannot let go.

If time turns back, will we have another chance to meet?

May we meet again in the best years of our lives.

--Sherlock

I know that coming to you means plunging into an abyss, yet I do it without hesitation.

I love you. I love your soul, so utterly unlike anyone else's.

The nights are cold, but with you beside me, I am not alone.

--An Cheng

Time can take everything away, but it cannot take away our longing for the ones we love.

Time can take your life, but it cannot make me stop loving you.

Having seen someone as brilliant as you, how could I settle for someone unworthy, no matter how young he may be?

Age, illness, and everything between them stand in their way. Can they still be together this time?

And when age takes Sherlock away, what will An Cheng, left alone, do?

Look forward to the parallel-world story, "When I Am Old and Faded."
