[Blurb]
Lu Xiu never expected that simply getting on a plane would kill her, leaving not even a body behind.
After playing an extreme game of "Werewolf," Lu Xiu was given a new lease on life and qualified to take on missions in the Spirit Pattern Space. The Spirit Pattern Space is full of traps, and there is only one goal for its missions: stay alive.
[Reading Guide and Content Warnings]
1. A heroine who grows over time: At first, she longs for love and throws herself into it recklessly (and rather foolishly). Later, disappointed and awakened, she becomes a true powerhouse.
2. The male lead is calculating and seemingly emotionless (there's more to the story). He's quite the piece of work at first, but as he grows, he comes to love the heroine just as deeply.
3. They tame each other, and a major emotional reckoning awaits later. The early chapters may not sit well with readers looking for pure wish fulfillment or sweet romance, so consider yourself warned.
4. This is entirely fictional. Please don't connect it to reality, and don't attack people personally.
[Regarding the Controversy About Women's Rights in the Story]
I didn't expect a similar controversy to come up again after all this time. Maybe I didn't explain myself clearly back then, so let me say it again here.
1. I did take an elective in women's studies during my master's program, but it covered issues like how women can empower themselves in a generally patriarchal society. At the time, I didn't have a deep understanding of the situation in China. I only did some research and study with my professor on societies abroad, so my knowledge was limited to what I'd read in books.
When I wrote this story, I had only just entered Chinese society and didn't really understand certain terms that had been stigmatized. So, once I realized that "feminazi" was actually a derogatory term, I corrected the wording while the story was still being serialized. (Stories can't be edited on JJ after they're completed, and I haven't made any changes since then.)
2. I've now been working for two years and have encountered many things in the workplace. My understanding of women's rights in today's society has changed, and is indeed very different from what I thought when I first returned to China. I have to admit that I didn't think things through carefully enough at the time.
3. Back then, I encountered two people I disliked in real life. One was a very chauvinistic male supervisor. The other was a woman who talked about "women's rights" but discriminated against other women and bullied her colleagues in various ways. I really disliked both of them, so I created these two characters, killed them off after just a few chapters, and never intended to explore them in depth.
4. If you read the story carefully, you should be able to see that it's a male villain criticizing a female villain. They're both minor characters, and neither of them is a good person. The story isn't putting one down to praise the other.
It's like having a psychopathic murderer appear in a movie. That's just characterization. Does it prove the screenwriter and director support criminal behavior? Those are two completely different things...
Anyone can take a close look at the original story. It doesn't attack anyone who supports women's rights, nor does it intend to attack the women's rights movement itself. But looking back, I really didn't understand the subject deeply enough at the time, and I didn't think the setup through carefully.
I hope everyone can become an independent thinker.
My upcoming novel, The Protagonists Were All Angered to Tears [Quick Transmigration], is now available for preorders. Feel free to check it out.
Theme: Survive in adversity, and remain independent in times of peace.
The more I read, the more depressing and nonsense it becomes. I feel like the text is completely wrong. I'm disappointed.
ψ(`??)ψ, Finally finished chasing
Will they both survive as administrators forever? ! Yes! Tell me you will! ! !
Congratulations on the completion! ! ! Take a good rest before writing a new article. See you in the next one~
Wow, this couple really gets along a bit. It makes me feel... I want to write a normal and modern story about falling in love and killing each other, hahahaha.
Cast the net wide, which one is caught? ? ? ?
Wow, I thought it was just an identity swap between Qin Gouzi and Zhao Mingfei, but I didn't expect such a result? ! !
Hey~ Zhao Mingfei felt so innocent at that time and so on... Fate...
Ah, this, I just guessed in the last chapter's comment that Zhao Mingfei is the real Demon Star. Has this chapter confirmed it??
After the chase, I was happy. I was also happy when I thought about how uncomfortable it would be. Then I made a wish that Li Fufeng would never be the star of the army. I hope that the two of us can be happy together, forever and ever!
