In the summer of 2013, Chen Sanshui overheard his adoptive parents talking and learned that he was actually the child of a wealthy family. His adoptive mother had secretly switched newborn Chen Sanshui with her own son so that her biological child could live a comfortable life.
After learning the truth, Chen Sanshui quit his factory job and, filled with anger and hurt, set off for Shuinan City to find his biological parents without telling his adoptive parents.
Chen Sanshui was welcomed back into the Zhou family and ended up living under the same roof as Zhou Feng, the fake young master who had taken his place.
Zhou Feng was only half a month older than him, but was handsome, talented, and supposedly got into Tsinghua University at fourteen. Chen Sanshui, on the other hand, had dropped out of high school and gone to work in a factory with people from his village at sixteen.
He was jealous of this fake older brother and hated him for taking over his life. He resented how easily Zhou Feng seemed to have it, and how shamelessly he stayed with the Zhou family even after Chen Sanshui had returned.
But little by little, Chen Sanshui realized things weren't quite as he had imagined...
The household staff moved in utter silence, appearing and disappearing without a trace.
His parents secretly burned yellow paper in a corner, then put the ashes into his water cup.
And the neighbors around them were all friendly and warm to his face, but the moment they turned away, their expressions became horribly sinister and malicious...
Even worse, an unseen ghostly presence kept crawling into Chen Sanshui's bed in the dead of night, messing him up again and again.
To stay alive, Chen Sanshui had no choice but to pretend he knew nothing.
This villa... no, everyone in this neighborhood was abnormal. There were ghosts here.
The only seemingly normal person was his adoptive older brother, Zhou Feng.
Trembling, Chen Sanshui went to Zhou Feng and whispered, "There are ghosts here. Let's escape together, okay?"
Zhou Feng's eyes widened in surprise. A bizarre, exaggerated smile flickered across his face as he asked again and again, "We're escaping together?"
Chen Sanshui nodded hard. "This place is so strange. Who knows what'll happen if we stay..."
Zhou Feng gripped his hand tightly and smiled. "All right."
Later, the two of them escaped the haunted villa together.
But the haunting didn't stop. The sleep paralysis only got worse, and when Chen Sanshui could take no more, he searched everywhere for a master to exorcise the ghosts. In the end, he discovered to his horror that the most terrifying evil spirit was right beside him.
Chen Sanshui wanted to run.
But when he opened the door, Zhou Feng was standing there. The tall, handsome evil spirit bent down and grinned at him. "Baby, where are you going? Why didn't you tell me you were heading out?"
[Sinister ghost seme x meek, honest uke]
The seme wasn't a good person before he died, and he isn't a good ghost now. He's a shameless, ill-mannered bad dog with no morals. The uke dropped out of high school to work in a factory. He's an honest, dim-witted pushover who can only shuffle away like a furry little thing when someone makes him mad.
Both are virgins. A dysfunctional romance between two people who deserve each other. I'm trying to set aside morals and common decency and write a little two-person comedy. This is an indulgence project; every plot point serves the romance.
Theme: Mutual salvation
