The Demon Tsunayoshi's Path to the Papacy

This story includes romantic interactions between Tsuna and Kyoya, so I've changed it back to romance. There isn't much romance, though: the story is mainly serious, focused on the plot and bonds of friendship, and ends with no pairing. Feel free to read!

Tsuna, who carries the bloodline of the legendary first-generation Vongola Demon Boss, is the sole heir to the greatest demon family, the Vongola. But since childhood, he has lived in a church with his mother Nana, a saint.

Raised by the Pope, Tsuna became the Holy Son, but had no ambition to become the next Pope.

Then one day, Reborn arrived, changing Tsuna's entire life.

First, he was forcibly taken to the Vongola and put through training. Later, when he reunited with his friend and personal knight, Yamamoto Takeshi, whom he had reluctantly left behind, he had no idea that Yamamoto had already seized the position of the new Pope. Yamamoto shoved a scepter and ceremonial robes, symbols of the Pope's office, into his hands.

Then, while Tsuna was training under Reborn, he finally reunited after ten years with his old friend. In order to secure his position as Tsuna's right-hand man, Gokudera, with the Ninth Boss and the others looking the other way, successfully took control of most of the Vongola's forces on behalf of the Tenth Boss.

Yamamoto: Ahaha, why hasn't Tsuna come back yet? Did the other Holy Sons chase him away? (Turns dark.) In that case, let's make Tsuna the Pope.

Gokudera: What? Someone else made a contribution to the Tenth before I did? The Pope? Hmph, what's so special about that? The Tenth is destined to become the Demon King.

Tsuna: That's enough, you guys! I don't want to be the Pope or the Demon King!

Premise: To be added
