My Childhood Friend Is Hard to Pursue

Green Plum Wine

When Jiang Jiang transmigrated into a book, she had already spent seventeen years living in it.

In the book, she's the male lead's childhood friend, a wealthy young woman from a good family with a pretty face, and a villainess everyone hates.

Jealous that the male lead likes the sweet, innocent heroine, she deliberately trips her up, frames her, and falsely accuses her.

She also drives a wedge between the leads, making them break up miserably just before the college entrance exams. The heroine leaves town, while the male lead fails his exams and eventually heads overseas to make his debut in style.

Later, the male lead achieves success and becomes a hugely popular star.

The heroine also becomes an unexpected sensation after graduating from college and enters the entertainment industry.

The two meet again, endure a series of agonizing twists and turns, and finally find their happy ending.

But the childhood friend who had been by the male lead's side for more than twenty years meets a terrible end.

She's smeared, abused by their fans, harassed online, and slandered. Eventually, she's dismissed from her research institute. In a daze, she leaps from a high-rise, ending her life in tragedy.

After remembering everything, Jiang Jiang quickly distances herself from the male lead and all his friends. She stops taking the adults' jokes to heart and devotes herself to studying, determined to knock the male lead off his throne as the top student in their year.

But, the male lead goes crazy.
